Uno Chiyo is a female artist who is known for her efforts in her later years to protect an ancient cherry tree that is said to be 1500 years old.
Her works with cherry blossom motifs are carefully preserved in the Sakura Museum in Honzu City, Gifu Prefecture.
In the past, now, and in the future, cherry blossoms will continue to be loved by Japanese people as a symbol of happiness.
